What are the disadvantages of not having firewire input on the DVD / VCR Recorder?
I'm thinking of buying a Panasonic DMR-ES30VS Recorder / VCR Combo. The main purpose of the purchase is easily transfer VHS tapes to DVD but I could use in other ways that I have not seen yet. It is supposed to be very easy to archive divided into chapters, ease of use is a plus for me. My computer and camera have FireWire (1394), but this recorder does not. It takes only analog. What are disadvantages of not having the firewire input?
'S FireWire port lets you quickly record to DVD from your camcorder. You can not think you need it now, if you have a computer, but you can later. It 'better to have as many options as possible. I have a recorder with a firewire input. I used it, even if I can easily adjust to my computer. Flexibility is the name of the game.
